JSW MG Motor India Secures Second Position in Luxury EV Market
JSW MG Motor India claims second spot in luxury electric vehicle segment with strong demand for Cyberster sports car and M9 limousine, recording 3-4 month waiting periods.
JSW MG Motor India has achieved the second position in India's luxury electric vehicle segment, driven by robust sales of its MG Cyberster sports car and MG M9 Presidential Limousine. Both models are experiencing waiting periods of three to four months due to sustained customer demand.
The MG Cyberster has emerged as India's highest-selling sports car, with 256 units sold since its July 2025 launch through the company's luxury retail channel, MG SELECT. The performance vehicle features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 510 PS and 725 Nm of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.
Milind Shah, Interim Head of MG SELECT, attributed the achievement to strong customer response for both models. "Securing the second spot in India's luxury EV segment is a testament to the phenomenal response our models have received," Shah stated.
The Cyberster incorporates design elements including electric scissor doors, a soft-top roof, and 20-inch alloy wheels with Pirelli P-Zero tires. The vehicle is equipped with Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers capable of stopping from 100 km/h in 33 meters.
JSW MG Motor India has established 14 MG SELECT Experience Centres across key Indian cities, offering specialized services and product displays for luxury vehicle buyers. The company is a joint venture formed in 2023 between SAIC Motor, a global Fortune 500 company, and JSW Group, an Indian conglomerate.
The rankings are based on VAHAN data from September 2025, which tracks vehicle registration information across India.
Morris Garages, founded in the United Kingdom in 1924, operates a manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles and employing 6,000 direct and indirect workers.
