JSW MG Motor India Reports 21% Sales Growth in June 2025

JSW MG Motor India sold 5,829 units in June 2025, marking a 21% increase compared to the same period last year. The wholesale figures reflect continued growth for the joint venture between SAIC Motor and JSW Group.

The company announced plans to launch its first luxury vehicle in India, the MG M9 Presidential Limousine, followed by the MG Cyberster. Both vehicles will be sold through MG Select, a new premium sales channel established by the company.

JSW MG Motor India was formed in 2023 as a joint venture between SAIC Motor, a Fortune 500 company with operations in over 100 countries, and JSW Group, an Indian conglomerate with business interests across various sectors. The partnership aims to develop a range of vehicles that provide access to advanced automotive technologies.

The company operates a manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 vehicles. The facility employs 6,000 people directly and indirectly. JSW MG Motor India has introduced several vehicles to the Indian market, including the MG Hector, MG ZS EV, MG Gloster, MG Astor, MG Comet, and MG Windsor.

Morris Garages, the brand behind MG vehicles, was established in the United Kingdom in 1924. The brand gained recognition for its sports cars and was favored by notable figures including British Prime Ministers and members of the Royal Family. The MG Car Club, founded in 1930, maintains a global membership base.

The company's current strategy focuses on CASE mobility principles, which encompass connected, autonomous, shared, and electric vehicle technologies. This approach guides the development of its vehicle portfolio and technology integration across its product range.
