JSW MG Motor India Announces Price Hike of Up to 1.5% from July 1

JSW MG Motor India has announced a price hike of up to 1.5% across the majority of its product portfolio, effective July 1, 2025. The extent of the increase will vary depending on the specific model and variant. The company stated that the revision is intended to address rising input costs and other macroeconomic pressures.
JSW MG Motor India Pvt. Ltd. is a joint venture formed in 2023 between SAIC Motor, which operates in over 100 countries, and India’s JSW Group, a diversified conglomerate involved in both B2B and B2C sectors. The joint venture aims to develop a sustainable automotive ecosystem while expanding its portfolio of technologically advanced vehicles. It also focuses on strengthening manufacturing operations and encouraging job creation through increased localization.
Morris Garages (MG), originally established in the UK in 1924, is known for its historical roots in vehicle design and production. Its Indian operations include a manufacturing plant in Halol, Gujarat, with an annual capacity of over 100,000 vehicles and a workforce of around 6,000. In India, MG has introduced various models including the Hector, ZS EV, Gloster, Astor, Comet, and Windsor, incorporating features aligned with connected, autonomous, shared, and electric (CASE) mobility.
The MG Hector is a mid-size SUV offered with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol or a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers up to 143 PS at 5,000 rpm. The model is available in several variants including Style, Smart, Smart Pro, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro. The ex-showroom prices range from ₹14.72 lakh for the base petrol manual variant to ₹21.72 lakh for the top-end petrol CVT. Diesel variants are priced between ₹19.05 lakh and ₹21.50 lakh.
The ZS EV is MG's electric SUV equipped with a 50.3 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 461 km. It supports both AC and DC charging and comes with connected car technology. The ZS EV is available in trims such as Excite and Exclusive, with ex-showroom prices starting at approximately ₹18.98 lakh and going up to ₹25.88 lakh, depending on the variant and features.
The Gloster is a full-size SUV that includes features such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and multiple drive modes. It is available in variants like Savvy, Blackstorm, and Storm series. Ex-showroom prices for the Gloster start at ₹41.07 lakh and go up to ₹43.35 lakh.
The Astor is a compact SUV featuring a 1.5-litre petrol engine and AI-enabled features. It is available in multiple trims with prices beginning at ₹11.30 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Comet EV is a compact electric car designed for city use. It supports fast charging and has variants ranging from the base model at ₹4.99 lakh to the top Blackstorm edition at ₹7.50 lakh (ex-showroom). The running cost is estimated at around ₹2.9 per km.
The Windsor is an electric hatchback available in two variants—base and PRO—both equipped with fast-charging support. The base variant is priced at ₹9.99 lakh, while the PRO variant is available at ₹12.25 lakh (ex-showroom). Estimated running costs range between ₹3.9 and ₹4.5 per km.
