JSW MG Motor India has announced a price reduction across its internal combustion engine (ICE) SUV lineup, passing on the full benefit of the recent Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate cuts to customers. The revised ex-showroom prices, which include reductions on spare parts and accessories, take effect immediately.

Under the new pricing, the MG Astor now starts at ₹9.65 lakh, making it more affordable than its 2021 launch price. The midsize Hector is priced from ₹14 lakh, while the flagship Gloster begins at ₹39.80 lakh. Depending on the model, customers will see savings ranging from ₹54,000 to ₹3.04 lakh.

Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer of JSW MG Motor India, said the decision reflects the company’s commitment to making ownership more accessible.

“The Government’s initiative to rationalise GST rates is a welcome step that directly supports car buyers by enhancing their purchasing power and fostering positive consumer sentiment. By passing on the full benefit of this reform to our customers, JSW MG Motor aims to make its SUV portfolio – Astor, Hector, and Gloster – even more accessible and attractive,” he noted.

The company is also offering additional consumer incentives. Gloster buyers can avail of benefits up to ₹3.5 lakh, while financing options include 100% on-road funding and a three-month EMI holiday, aimed at easing ownership costs during the festive season.

Model-Wise Price Reductions

  • MG Astor: Reduction of ₹34,000; new starting price ₹9.65 lakh

  • MG Hector: Reduction of ₹49,000; new starting price ₹14 lakh

  • MG Gloster: Reduction of ₹2.83 lakh; new starting price ₹39.80 lakh

Industry analysts suggest the move could strengthen demand in the lead-up to Diwali, when car sales traditionally peak. Automakers are expected to leverage the GST cuts to stimulate purchases, particularly in the entry and midsize SUV segments.

JSW MG Motor India, a joint venture formed in 2023 between SAIC Motor and JSW Group, manufactures vehicles at its Halol, Gujarat facility. The company has introduced several firsts in the Indian market, including the MG Hector (India’s first internet SUV) and MG Gloster (India’s first Level-1 autonomous premium SUV).
