JOST Acquires Hyva for $398 Million to Strengthen Global Presence and India Focus

JOST Werke SE, a global supplier of safety-critical systems for commercial vehicles, has acquired Hyva, a Netherlands-based company specializing in hydraulic solutions, in a deal valued at $ 398 million. The move is intended to boost JOST’s capabilities in serving India’s commercial vehicle market and broaden its offerings across transport, agriculture, and construction industries worldwide.

With this acquisition, JOST plans to enhance its presence in Asia and the Americas while entering new market segments. Hyva’s portfolio, which includes front-end tipping cylinders, container lifting systems, waste handling solutions, and truck-mounted cranes, complements JOST’s existing product range for both On-Highway and Off-Highway applications.

According to Pradeep Gorur Sheshagiri, Managing Director of JOST India, the acquisition aligns with India’s infrastructure development goals and supports the company’s local manufacturing and OEM engagement under the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Jeffrey Zuidgeest, Regional Director India, BU Components at Hyva, stated that the integration of both companies' offerings would allow them to better serve customers using Hyva’s established sales and after-sales network.

Hyva holds a notable share in the hydraulic tipping cylinders market and operates in over 110 countries with 14 production sites across multiple continents, including India. JOST intends to leverage this reach to provide consistent quality and region-specific solutions.

This acquisition adds to JOST’s history of strategic expansion, following its previous acquisitions of brands like ROCKINGER, TRIDEC, and Quicke. With Hyva now part of its portfolio, JOST aims to further strengthen its global position in both transport and heavy equipment sectors.
