JK Tyre unveils advanced OTR Tyres at Bauma Conexpo 2024

JK Tyre & Industries, a leading player in the Off-the-Road (OTR) tyre segment, launched its latest range of OTR tyres specifically designed for the mining industry at Bauma Conexpo 2024 India. The new tyre models introduced include the 17.5-25 VEM 63 L5 for wheel loaders, 16.00-25 VEM 99D E3 for wide-body dump trucks, 12.00-24 VEM SMOOTH L5S for load haul dumpers, 300-15 JET LIFT for forklifts, and 10/75-15.3 MPT117 for self-loading concrete mixers.

These new tyres are designed to deliver enhanced durability and improved performance in challenging mining environments. The launch was led by Anuj Kathuria, President (India) of JK Tyre & Industries, along with Debasis Khuntia, Head of OTR at JK Tyre & Industries.

JK Tyre has been a pioneer in introducing smart tyre technologies, including the Treel (tyre pressure and temperature monitoring system), which was also showcased at the event. These innovations aim to improve operational efficiency in heavy-duty mining machinery, reinforcing JK Tyre’s commitment to smart mobility solutions for the construction and mining industries.

Speaking at the launch, Anuj Kathuria, President (India), JK Tyre & Industries, said, “JK Tyre has consistently driven innovation in the OTR tyre sector, offering robust solutions that enhance productivity in challenging environments. Our latest OTR tyres are built to withstand tough conditions, providing superior durability and efficiency for mining machinery. We remain committed to advancing tyre technology and setting new industry standards.”

The new tyres incorporate advanced features tailored to the mining sector’s requirements. The VEM 63 (L5 Pattern) tyre includes an extra-deep tread design for extended service life, reinforced sidewall protection, broad lugs for stability, and a tough nylon casing for load capacity. The VEM 99D (E3 Pattern) tyre is designed with a chevron pattern to improve heat dissipation and cut resistance, offering superior handling and durability.

The VEM SMOOTH L5S tyre ensures long tread life, stability, and high load endurance, making it suitable for harsh mining conditions. The JET LIFT tyre provides excellent stability, wear resistance, and a silica-based compound for durability, while the MPT 117 tyre offers enhanced mileage and load capacity for both on-road and off-road operations.
