JK Tyre honored with Mahatma award for CSR excellence and Social Impact
JK Tyre & Industries received the Mahatma Award 2024 for its contributions to education, healthcare, and sustainability, highlighting its efforts in driving community development through impactful CSR programs.
JK Tyre & Industries, a prominent tyre manufacturer in India, has been recognized with the Mahatma Award 2024 in the 'CSR Excellence and Social Impact' category. The award was presented at a ceremony in New Delhi on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s 155th birth anniversary.
Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry, presented the award to Anil K Makkar, Group Chief Sustainability Officer of JK Organisation and Manufacturing Director of JK Tyre. The recognition highlights the company’s efforts in contributing to social welfare through its various CSR programs.
JK Tyre’s CSR initiatives focus on areas such as education, healthcare, environmental sustainability, and water conservation. Some of these initiatives include scholarships, the adoption of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), adult literacy programs, skill development, support for self-help groups, and reproductive and child healthcare services.
Speaking on the occasion, Anuj Kathuria, President (India), JK Tyre & Industries, stated that the company’s CSR efforts are aimed at improving the lives of marginalized communities. He expressed appreciation for the recognition and affirmed the company's focus on sustainable and socially responsible practices.
The Mahatma Award, inspired by the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, is organized by the Mahatma Foundation in partnership with the Aditya Birla Group and Liveweek Group. It recognizes organizations from various sectors that demonstrate a commitment to social impact and sustainability.
