JK Tyre Earns Global Safety and Environmental Certifications Across All Plants

JK Tyre & Industries Ltd. marked World Manufacturing Day by outlining its progress in safety, environmental standards, and responsible manufacturing across its India and Mexico facilities. The company said its initiatives reflect long-term goals around carbon reduction, certification compliance, and process integration.

JK Tyre has received Five-Star Safety Ratings from the British Safety Council for all its manufacturing sites and subsequently earned the Sword of Honour at every facility. These audits cover operational systems and employee safety measures.

Two of its plants—Chennai and Mysuru—have been awarded the Globe of Honour for environmental management. The awards recognise adherence to risk management, resource use, and stakeholder reporting.

The company has also published third-party verified Environmental Product Declarations for three products manufactured at the Vikrant, Cavendish, and Chennai facilities. These declarations list each product’s lifecycle environmental impact.

JK Tyre has set targets to reduce carbon intensity by half by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Its Chennai plant has ISCC Plus certification, validating the use of traceable renewable and recycled materials in tyre manufacturing.

Chairman and MD Dr. Raghupati Singhania said that the company’s approach is based on safety, sustainability, and long-term responsibility. The company follows a five-pillar framework covering people, product, process, planet, and profit to plan manufacturing operations and technology adoption.

JK Tyre operates 11 manufacturing facilities—nine in India and two in Mexico, with a combined annual production of about 35 million tyres.
