Jeep Announces Strategic Plan 2.0 to Strengthen India Operations

Jeep announced Strategic Plan Jeep 2.0 on January 30, a strategy focused on brand heritage, capability and desirability in the Asia Pacific region with India at its center, aimed at boosting product momentum and enhancing the ownership experience through deeper localization, expanded exports, and improved aftersales support.

The plan includes targeting 90% localization at the Ranjangaon manufacturing facility, up from the current 65-70%, to strengthen cost competitiveness and supply-chain resilience. The facility has an installed capacity of 160,000 vehicles annually.

Jeep will introduce new models in India from 2027 onwards while continuing to refresh its current lineup with special editions. The company plans to expand exports from Ranjangaon to markets across the African and North American continents, in addition to existing exports of Compass, Meridian, and Commander to Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Shailesh Hazela, CEO & Managing Director, Stellantis India, said: "Jeep's 85-year legacy is built on authenticity and adventure. Strategic Plan Jeep 2.0 lays out how we will sharpen our product strategy and strengthen the customer experience year after year, driven by deeper localization, global product alignment, expanding our vehicle offerings, and programs that deliver real value. We are equally focused on taking care of our existing customers, ensuring they receive the support, service, and confidence they expect from Jeep. Success in India demands resilience and long-term commitment, and we are investing with that clarity to ensure Jeep remains a brand of pride and desirability."

The plan includes enhanced aftersales support through the Confidence 7 program, which features initiatives including a Pre-maintenance Program, Jeep Assured Buyback Program, and Multiyear Extended warranty program.

Jeep aims to build a 100,000 strong community of owners in India through platforms such as Jeep Trails and Camp Jeep. The company is currently present in 70 cities with over 85 sales and service touchpoints nationwide.

In 2025, the Limited-Edition Jeep Wrangler Willys 41 sold out in seven days. The brand also introduced the Anniversary Limited Edition Grand Cherokee.

Jeep's India vehicle lineup consists of the Wrangler, Compass, Meridian, and Grand Cherokee. India is the first country outside North America where Jeep manufactures four models locally for domestic sales and exports to right-hand drive markets.
