Bihar's tourism sector has received a boost with the delivery of two luxury caravans manufactured by JCBL Limited for the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC). The vehicles, completed over a three-month period, are designed to offer enhanced comfort and convenience for tourists exploring the state's key attractions.
The caravans will initially operate on day trips to popular destinations including Rajgir, the Valmiki Nagar Tiger Reserve safari routes, and the Bodhgaya-Nalanda circuits. Plans are in place to expand services to other parts of Bihar and interstate routes in the future.
Each caravan features four 360-degree rotating recliner seats, a convertible sofa bed, and four sleeper berths equipped with privacy curtains. Entertainment amenities include five screens, comprising four smart TVs in the berths and a large LED TV in the lounge area. A modular kitchen with essential appliances has been integrated to support longer journeys.
Additional features include adjustable lighting, 24-hour Wi-Fi connectivity, charging points, and a compact washroom, ensuring passenger comfort during extended trips.
Mr. Rajinder Aggarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of JCBL Group, stated that the motorhomes reflect the company's decades of specialised vehicle manufacturing experience and focus on travel innovation. Mr. Dinesh Dua, Business Head for Marketing and Sales, emphasised the company's commitment to its partnership with the Government of Bihar and noted that the caravans will soon be inaugurated by government officials before being made available for public booking.
A spokesperson for Bihar Tourism indicated that the caravan motorhomes align with the state's objective to improve travel experiences across key tourism routes, particularly benefiting visitors to Valmiki Nagar, Bodhgaya, Rajgir, Nalanda, and surrounding areas.
