JBM forays into European market with Ecolife, Galaxy electric buses at Bus World 2023 in Brussels

The Gurugram-headquartered e-bus manufacturer claims having an order book of over 5,000 electric buses across geographies, and aims to fulfil growing demand with its 20,000-unit annual capacity.

Gurugram-headquartered JBM Electric Vehicles, one of India’s leading electric bus manufacturers has showcased its all-electric city bus Ecolife and luxury coach Galaxy, at ongoing Bus World 2023 in Brussels. The launch lso marks JBM Electric Vehicles’ foray into the European Union region with an array of products and solutions specifically tailored towards providing end-to-end e-mobility ecosystem solutions. 

JBM Electric Vehicles is the flagship company of the Indian-origin US$ 2.6 billion JBM Group, and the buses were unveiled by SK Arya, Chairman; and Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman, JBM Group. The company claims currently having an order book of 5,000 electric buses, deployed and under execution in various geographies across the globe across multiple applications. With an annual manufacturing capacity of over 20,000 buses, JBM Electric Vehicles, says it has set up one of the largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facilities in Haryana, India, and is confident of fulfilling the growing demand.

Over the last five years, the company has clocked over 100 million e-kms having catered to over 1 billion passengers so far. The company has pledged to clock over 1 billion e-kms and cater to over 10 billion passengers in the next 3-4 years. 

Launching JBM Ecolife and JBM Galaxy at Bus World 2023, Brussels, Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman and MD, JBM Group, said, “Our mission is to decarbonise city and inter-city travel by creating new and sustainable global benchmarks. We are delighted to offer clean, silent, energy efficient and sustainable public transportation solutions over the years. Owing to our expertise and experience in deploying electric mobility solutions in various parts of the world, here at Bus World, we have launched two new products that are a true testimony of our commitment towards the European market. Both Ecolife and Galaxy have been designed to offer safe and hassle-free services, thereby, delivering optimum total of ownership to the customer.”

Public transport is a highly customisable domain with each city and customer having specific requirements. JBM has been working purposefully and has been a pioneer towards building a comprehensive and intelligent EV ecosystem – JBM E-Verse that seamlessly integrates electric vehicles, battery technology, power infrastructure, fast charging infrastructure, power electronics and has expertise in customising them based on various geographies across the globe. The company says that this has enabled it to achieve a very high level of modularity, fast time to market and take the numero-uno position in India. 

High-on-tech electric buses
The JBM Ecolife and Galaxy electric buses come equipped with the proprietary Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) technologies that assist the driver, detect obstacles, and check driver errors for ensuring a safe transit to commuters. A host of such advanced safety aids include, Advance Emergency braking system (AEBS), Forward vehicle collision warning systems (FVCWS), Lane Departure Warning System, Pedestrian and cyclist collision warning (MOIS), and Blind spot detection, among others. These features are further complemented by protection of the bus against cyber-attack, an Intelligent Speed Assistance system, alcohol interlock installation facilitation, driver drowsiness, attention warning and advance driver distraction warning. The buses come equipped with a fire detection and suppression system (FDSS), as well as a 360-degree camera for easier maneuvering.

The company says that JBM buses come with a lightweight monocoque full stainless steel body structure and equipped with state-of-the-art features including Intelligent Transport System as per EU norms, advanced telematics giving 24x7 access to vehicle’s state of health amongst host of other features.

It further adds that it has redefined public transportation through its best-in-class, modern and technologically superior electric buses that have established benchmarks in passenger comfort, safety, affordability, and innovation, reflecting the key ethos of JBM products. All the four types of buses are equipped with a series of customisable options and adaptable features.
