JBM Auto Limited registered 1,282 electric buses across Telangana, Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Assam in FY26, securing a 24% share of India's electric bus market and emerging as the country's top e-bus manufacturer by volume.

The New Delhi-based company also commands over 79% of the electric tarmac bus segment and more than 50% of the intercity luxury coach market. Its current order book stands at over 10,000 electric buses.

"FY26 has been a transformative year for us," said Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman & MD, JBM Auto Ltd. and Chairman, JBM Electric Vehicles (P) Ltd. "We are honoured to lead India's transition toward electric mobility, contributing significantly to the Hon'ble Prime Minister's vision of a carbon-neutral nation. Our emergence as the market leader in FY26 underscores JBM EV's technological edge and operational excellence."

"By marking our leadership across multiple segments including the tarmac, luxury coach and the wider public transport segments, we have proven that our integrated EV platform stands as the most reliable choice for diverse terrains. We will continue to scale our manufacturing and R&D capabilities to ensure that every fourth e-bus on Indian roads carries the JBM promise of safety, efficiency, and innovation," Arya added.

JBM Auto operates what it describes as the world's largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside China, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 units. Its portfolio spans city, intercity, luxury coach, school, staff, tarmac and special-purpose electric vehicles. The company has set a target of clocking over 3 billion e-kilometres globally within the next few years.

The company targets 60% EV penetration in India's bus segment by 2030.
