Jaguar’s much-anticipated all-electric grand tourer will make its global debut next year.  The production version of the striking Type 00 concept was earlier slated to be unveiled by end 2025.

Confirming the development to ABC News, Jaguar managing director Rawdon Glover said the company’s new electric flagship will now arrive next year. While no official reason was cited for the delay, it comes in the wake of a major cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover’s systems earlier this year, which disrupted production and operations for several weeks.

Prototypes of the electric GT have been often seen testing at multiple locations like the Nürburgring, suggesting development work is still underway. Glover added that Jaguar will start accepting orders shortly after the car’s debut, with deliveries to follow “relatively soon after that.”

Jaguar Electric GT: expected price and range

The upcoming grand tourer will be built on Jaguar’s new electric architecture and is expected to offer up to 430 miles (692 km) of range. Using a DC fast charger, owners could replenish about 200 miles (322 km) of range in just 15 minutes. Set to be the most powerful Jaguar ever, the new GT will reportedly cost around USD 130,000 (approx. INR1.08 crore).

Glover hinted that the model will deliver a truly engaging driving experience, something he believes few EVs currently offer. “There aren’t many EVs that are really engaging to drive,” he said, suggesting Jaguar’s next chapter will focus as much on emotion and performance as electrification.

Jaguar Electric GT: Design and market outlook

The production model will take heavy inspiration from the Type 00 concept that features dramatic proportions and minimalistic surfacing. Glover noted that the car’s scale and stance are best appreciated in person, describing it as “a vehicle that evokes drama and presence.”

The United States is expected to be Jaguar’s largest market for the new electric GT, with strong early interest from customers. Meanwhile, the brand continues selling its model in some markets however, Jaguar has no new models on sale in India currently.
