ITL To Set Up 25-Acre Global R&D Centre In Greater Noida

International Tractors Limited (ITL), the owner of Sonalika Tractors, plans to establish a 25-acre Global Research & Development Centre in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The proposed facility is intended to serve as an advanced engineering hub for developing agricultural technologies and farmer-focused solutions.

The announcement follows a meeting between ITL management and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow on August 14, 2026. According to the company, the greenfield facility will form part of its next phase of agricultural innovation and strengthen its engineering capabilities for Indian and global markets.

ITL Greater Noida R&D Centre: What The Facility Will Focus On

ITL said the proposed centre will combine engineering expertise with insights from farmers to develop agricultural solutions suited to market requirements in India and overseas. The company also expects the facility to contribute to high-value engineering, skill development, employment generation and technology-led industrial activity in Uttar Pradesh.

The facility is part of ITL’s longer-term innovation roadmap for Uttar Pradesh. The company has not disclosed an investment value, construction timeline or expected operational date for the proposed R&D centre in the release.

Raman Mittal, Joint Managing Director, International Tractors Limited, said, “Our ambition is to create a globally benchmarked institution for agricultural research and innovation” and develop technologies for farmers and agricultural applications.

Sonalika Tractors’ Global Operations

Sonalika Tractors was founded in 1996 and is owned by ITL. The company says the brand has a presence across more than 150 countries and operates an integrated tractor manufacturing plant.

Sonalika also states that it publicly announces tractor prices and service costs on its website. The brand is marking 30 years of operations in 2026.
