Isuzu Motors India rolls out one lakh vehicles from Sri City facility
Isuzu Motors India commenced operations in 2016 with the establishment of its manufacturing facility at Sri City.
Isuzu Motors India has rolled out its one lakhth vehicle from its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The landmark was reached with the production of the popular Isuzu D-MAX V-Cross, reflecting the brand’s growing presence and commitment to the Indian market.
N. Yuvaraj, Secretary to the Government, Industries Commerce and Food Processing Department, Andhra Pradesh was the chief guest at the event. Other dignitaries included Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder and Managing Director of Sri City, and Makoto Sado, Chairman of the Sri City Japanese Company Group.
Isuzu Motors India commenced operations in 2016 with the establishment of its manufacturing facility at Sri City. In 2020, the company began Phase-II operations, which included a state-of-the-art press shop facility and an engine assembly plant. Since then, over 14,00,000 pressed parts have been produced at the facility, highlighting Isuzu’s strong manufacturing capabilities.
Over the past two years, Isuzu Motors India has doubled its vehicle and engine production capacity, driven by increasing market demand. This expansion aligns with the company’s long-term "Make in India" strategy, which focuses on strengthening domestic operations and contributing to Isuzu’s global footprint.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Mittal, President and Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, expressed pride in the company’s achievements. “Over the years, the company has achieved significant milestones in both production and exports. A key highlight is that 22% of our production line workforce comprises talented women, showcasing our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion. Additionally, 100% of our production workforce are diploma engineers, enabling us to manufacture world-class vehicles adhering to Isuzu’s global standards of excellence,” he stated. He also emphasized the company’s role as a leading exporter of commercial vehicles from India and its dedication to delivering high-quality products for domestic and overseas markets.
Toru Kishimoto, Deputy Managing Director of Isuzu Motors India, highlighted the significance of the milestone, saying, “This achievement reflects the trust our customers place in Isuzu’s reliable and versatile vehicles. India is a market of immense potential and strategic importance to Isuzu, and we remain committed to delivering value-driven and innovative mobility solutions.”
