Isuzu Motors India (IMI) has emerged as the leading exporter of commercial vehicles (CVs) from India for the financial year 2024–25. The company exported 20,312 vehicles during the year, marking a 24% increase over the previous year’s 16,329 units, according to figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). IMI has been among the top three CV exporters from India in recent years and now holds the top position.

Operating from its manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, IMI supplies vehicles to left-hand and right-hand drive markets across Asia and the Middle East. Key export destinations include Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and Jordan.

The Sri City plant, which recently rolled out its 100,000th vehicle, plays a central role in Isuzu’s export operations. The facility serves as a strategic manufacturing hub for both domestic and international markets, especially in the pickup vehicle segment. In parallel, the company has been expanding its domestic sales and service network to improve accessibility for Indian customers.

Isuzu Motors India Private Limited (IMI) is a subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, and was established in August 2012. Headquartered in Chennai, the company offers products in both personal and commercial vehicle segments. The company recently introduced a fully-built ambulance model compliant with AIS-125 Type C specifications.

The company’s manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, spans 107 acres and began operations in April 2016.
