Isuzu Motors India (IMI), the Indian subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited, Japan, has announced a senior leadership transition effective March 2026. Takeshi Hirano has been appointed Deputy Managing Director, succeeding Toru Kishimoto, who is set to take on a new assignment at the parent company in Japan.

Hirano joins IMI from Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan, where he held a position within Isuzu's business division. He brings more than 20 years of experience in distribution and marketing across international markets for the Isuzu brand. His career spans multiple roles overseeing operations across various geographies for both Isuzu Motors and Mitsubishi Corporation.

Hirano is not a newcomer to the Indian market. He previously served at Isuzu Motors India as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, a role in which he is credited with laying the commercial groundwork for the company's presence in India. His return to IMI comes at a time when the automaker has been expanding its footprint in the domestic market and building on its position as a leading exporter of commercial vehicles.

According to the company, the management change is in line with its established business plan. Isuzu Motors India, headquartered in Chennai, operates a manufacturing facility at Sri City in Andhra Pradesh and retails a range of pickup trucks and SUVs through approximately 100 dealer locations across the country.

IMI was recognised as India's top exporter of commercial vehicles in FY2024-25, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM). The company's product portfolio includes the D-MAX V-Cross, Hi-Lander pickup, and the mu-X SUV, along with commercial variants of the D-MAX range.
