Inteva Products Announces Second Manufacturing Plant in Pune with Rs. 50 Crore Investment
US-based automotive supplier strengthens India presence with new facility expected to create 400 jobs, introduce advanced products, and expand solar energy capacity to support sustainable manufacturing operations.
Inteva Products LLC, a global automotive systems supplier based in the United States, has announced plans to establish a second manufacturing facility in Pune, marking a significant expansion of its Indian operations after 17 years in the region.
The new plant represents an investment of Rs. 50 crores and is projected to generate over 400 employment opportunities in India's automotive sector. The facility will focus on producing next-generation automotive components designed for the evolving mobility market in India.
"Inteva's expansion in India reflects our confidence in the region's growth potential and our shared journey towards innovative and sustainable mobility," said Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products. The company emphasized that the expansion will enable enhanced collaboration with regional customers and deeper integration with local supply chains.
Product Portfolio Expansion
Alongside the manufacturing expansion, Inteva announced the introduction of several advanced products for Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). The new product lineup includes frameless window regulators, power folding actuators, glass actuators, SLIM motors for window regulators, E-Latch systems, frunk latches, and power tailgates. These technologies are designed to advance vehicle safety, reduce weight, and support electrification efforts.
Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director for India and Rest of Asia at Inteva Products, stated that the expansion aligns with the Make in India initiative and underscores the company's commitment to delivering localized, customer-centric solutions for automotive growth across the country.
Technical Capabilities and Sustainability Initiatives
Inteva's existing infrastructure in India includes a manufacturing facility in Pune and a technical centre in Bengaluru. The Bengaluru centre employs over 320 professionals, including more than 180 engineers, and serves as a global hub for product design, validation, simulation, and business support.
On the sustainability front, Inteva's Pune plant has installed a 335-kilowatt solar energy system utilizing over 1,000 solar panels to reduce carbon emissions. The company is also advancing material circularity through research on repurposed industrial resins and participates in customer-driven environmental, social, and governance assessments.
Founded in 2008 and headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Inteva Products employs over 8,000 people across 30 sites worldwide. The company specializes in closure systems, interior systems, and motors and electronics for the automotive industry.
