Indofast Energy has partnered with EV charging infrastructure provider Zeon Charging to expand its battery-swapping network across premium commercial locations in Southern India, beginning with deployments in Bengaluru.

The collaboration will see Indofast Energy install its Quick Interchange Stations (QIS) at Zeon Charging's network of premium malls, metro parking facilities and commercial hubs across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and other key markets. The companies said the partnership aims to improve access to battery-swapping infrastructure for commercial EV users, particularly delivery riders.

Bengaluru Rollout Begins with Six QIS Units at Orion Mall

The rollout has commenced with six QIS units across two locations in Bengaluru, including Orion Mall in Rajajinagar. The companies are also evaluating adding five to six more stations at the mall as part of the next phase of expansion.

Deployment Strategy Targets High-Footfall Commercial Hubs

According to the companies, the deployment strategy focuses on locations that already have established power infrastructure and high vehicle footfall, allowing battery-swapping services to be integrated into existing urban mobility corridors.

Indofast Energy's Nationwide Battery-Swapping Footprint

The partnership forms part of Indofast Energy's network expansion strategy in Southern India, where the company currently operates more than 450 battery-swapping stations in Bengaluru. Nationwide, it has a network of over 1,900 swap stations across 24 cities supporting more than 120,000 vehicles.

"Our collaboration with Zeon Charging enables us to bring battery swapping to some of the most accessible and high-visibility locations across Southern India," said Subhash Bhat, Interim CEO, Indofast Energy.
