India's tyre exports during the first half of the financial year 2025 registered an 11.7% on-year growth as global demand for tyres remained in favour. India exported tyres worth Rs 12,131 crore in the April-September period, according to the data from the Ministry of Commerce. The Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Association (ATMA) attributed the growth to a strong growth in volumes of motorcycle tyres, which accounts for the largest export category.

While volumes of motorcycle tyres grew 37%, passenger car radials volume rose by 18% while truck and bus radials improved by 19%.

Indian-made tyres are exported to more than 170 countries, making up almost one-third of the tyre industry's total production value.

Around 35 lakh motorcycle tyres were exported during the first half, with Colombia being the largest importer of motorcycle tyres from India, the association said. The US with 15% of tyre imports from India remains the largest importer, followed by Brazil, Germany, UAE, France, and Italy.
