The sixth edition of ACMA Automechanika New Delhi wrapped up on 7th February 2026, drawing 35,750 visitors and 870 exhibitors representing more than 3,000 brands across three days at the trade fair for auto components and the aftermarket industry. Participation came from 20 countries, including Belgium, China, Germany, Japan, Spain, Taiwan, the UAE, and the United States.
The event was opened by Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry and Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, who addressed attendees on 5th February. He said India's auto component industry would serve as a partner to the European Union and the United States, and that components for electric vehicles and conventional automobiles would receive policy support to enable global-standard production.
India's auto component industry is projected to attract between USD 2.89 billion and USD 3.46 billion in investment in FY26, directed toward capacity expansion and localisation of electric vehicle parts. This follows an estimated USD 1.73 billion to USD 2.31 billion invested in FY25.
The government's recent Economic Survey, released ahead of the Union Budget 2026–27, noted that the auto industry exported more than 5.3 million vehicles across passenger, commercial, two-wheeler, and three-wheeler segments in FY25, recording double-digit export growth in the first half of 2025–26.
India's vehicle penetration rate stands at 48 cars per 1,000 people, compared with more than 800 in European Union and Western markets — a gap that exhibitors and analysts cited as an indicator of long-term domestic growth potential. International pavilions at the show also noted demand growth in India's tier-2 and tier-3 cities, linked to rising passenger and commercial vehicle sales and government localisation incentives.
Companies from several countries outlined their India strategies at the event. German participants described exploring India as a manufacturing base for exports to Africa and the Middle East, with investment directed toward electric vehicle motors, sensors, and electronic components.
Taiwanese companies pointed to semiconductor investments, including PSMC's partnership with Tata Electronics, and a focus on OEM supplies and sensors for the EV segment. Chinese firms expressed interest in passenger and commercial vehicle components, citing India's expanding highway network and growth in road freight. Sri Lankan participants noted their dependence on India for two- and three-wheeler parts, engine components, and heavy commercial vehicle parts, citing geographic proximity and logistics advantages.
Among the exhibitors, Hindalco Industries showcased alloy-based components co-developed with original equipment manufacturer partners, including battery enclosures, crash boxes, and front forks for two-wheelers, drawing on facilities in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh and Chakan. Horse Technologies, a first-time participant from Spain, presented a hybrid engine for the Toyota Fortuner, scheduled for launch around Diwali 2026.
ZF Aftermarket India introduced corrosion-resistant clutch discs and kits for agricultural tractors under its Sachs brand, targeting India and the broader IMEA region.The show floor covered auto parts and components, electronics and diagnostics, body and paint products, tyres, batteries, lubricants, workshop equipment, and solutions for two-wheelers, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and agricultural machinery.
Two learning platforms ran alongside the exhibits: a conference arena in Hall 2 covering topics such as alternative fuels, digitisation of the aftermarket value chain, and anti-counterfeiting strategies; and a workshop zone with practical sessions on painting solutions, protective films, cutting technologies, and workshop management.
ACMA Automechanika New Delhi is jointly organised by the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA) and Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India. ACMA represents over 1,100 manufacturers, whose combined output accounts for more than 90 percent of the organised Indian auto component industry's turnover. The Automechanika brand operates across 16 countries and is part of Messe Frankfurt's Mobility and Logistics portfolio.
