IMTEX 2023 takes off
The 20th edition of IMTEX runs from 19 to 25 January 2023 in Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru and features 980+ exhibitors from 23 countries.
The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) inaugurated IMTEX 2023, Tooltech 2023 & Digital Manufacturing 2023 on January 19, 2023. The IMTEX exhibition showcases the latest trends and technological advancements in Indian and global metal-cutting industries.
The event was inaugurated by Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director, Volvo India Group and Gopal Subramanyam, Chairman, SKF India.
Jamshyd N Godrej, Chairman, Exhibitions - IMTMA, Ravi Raghavan, President, IMTMA, Rajendra S Rajamane, Vice President - IMTMA and Jibak Dasgupta, Director General and CEO - IMTMA were also present at the inauguration.
In his welcome address, Jamshyd Godrej recalled his association with late Vikram Kirloskar, the former Vice Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor. He noted that, despite the pandemic's strain on business, exhibitions are back. Godrej said that IMTMA has completed a 75-year journey and will continue to support the machine tool and manufacturing industries while the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) will support exhibitions, investor conferences and corporate events.
Giving a broader perspective of the manufacturing industry, Kamal Bali said that manufacturing is the future growth story of India and IMTEX is a great platform for that. He said that the next decade belongs to India which is slated to do well because of forward looking policies, young and emerging talent and global investments. He called upon the industry to adopt best practices and build partnerships with global entities.
Apart from a display of products and solutions, various other programmes have been lined up. IMTMA provides an opportunity to Indian academic and R&D institutions to showcase their research capabilities and make it available for commercial use.
IMTMA has constituted two awards to recognise and reward companies. These are the IMTMA Best Design Award for indigenously designed product in metal cutting and the IMTMA Export Performance Award for making significant achievement in export of machine tools. The awards will be conferred during the exhibition.
Machine tool builders are presenting new products such as smart and intelligent machines, high-precision, high performance, multi-tasking, hybrid machines and special purpose machines, robots, cobots, AGVs, tools, accessories, manufacturing software, 3D Printers, 3D printing solutions, evolving Industry 4.0 hardware, software, customised solutions, etc.
