ICAT Certifies First 15-metre Multi-axle Sleeper Bus

ICAT issues its first compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus from Synaty Automotive under AIS-119 and AIS-153.

The International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) has issued its first compliance certificate for a 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus under AIS-119 and AIS-153, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules (CMVR).

The certificate has been awarded to Synaty Automotive Pvt. Ltd. for its 15-metre multi-axle sleeper bus. The certificate was formally handed over by ICAT director Saurabh Dalela to Synaty Automotive managing director Naresh Kumar Yadav in the presence of senior ICAT officials.

The bus has been designed for long-distance passenger transportation, with provisions covering structural strength, emergency safety, fire safety, passenger movement and travel comfort.

The fully sleeper variant has a capacity of 42 berths, while the hybrid sleeper variant offers 21 berths and 42 seats.

The vehicle has been tested and certified against applicable requirements covering vehicle safety, structural integrity, passenger accommodation and comfort under the relevant automotive standards and CMVR provisions.

Certification covers safety and structural requirements

According to ICAT, the certification under AIS-119 and AIS-153 demonstrates its capability to evaluate advanced passenger vehicle configurations and support manufacturers in meeting prescribed regulatory and technical requirements.

ICAT provides testing, certification and homologation services for the Indian automotive industry, covering areas including vehicle safety, regulatory compliance and technological requirements.
