Hyundai Outlines India Plan with Q4 E-SUV Launch, 26 Models by 2030

Hyundai Motor Company has announced a long-term business roadmap at its 2026 CEO Investor Day, reaffirming its target of 5.55 million annual global vehicle sales by 2030 while raising its consolidated operating profit margin target to above 9%.

As part of its worldwide strategy to execute more than 100 product launches and refreshes by 2030, Hyundai has outlined 26 vehicle introductions for the Indian market. The domestic offensive begins in the fourth quarter of 2026 with an all-new localized entry electric SUV, to be followed by a new internal combustion engine (ICE) mid-size SUV.

Hyundai India Capacity Expansion: 320,000 New Units, 90% Local Sourcing

To support this expansion, Hyundai will add 320,000 units of manufacturing capacity in India as part of a 1.27-million-unit global capacity expansion by 2030. The company plans to increase its local component sourcing in India to 90% by 2030, supported by over 1,400 domestic suppliers and 900 local engineers.

Hyundai India as Export Hub, TVS Electric Three-Wheeler Tie-Up

India will also maintain an annualized capacity of 1.1 million units and serve as an export hub targeting shipments of approximately 30% of local production volume to the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and South America. In the commercial space, Hyundai will also collaborate with TVS Motor Company to enter the electric three-wheeler category.

Genesis India Entry: Hyundai's Luxury Brand Plans by 2030

Hyundai also said that its luxury brand Genesis plans to enter the Indian and Asia-Pacific markets in the near future as it targets 350,000 annual global sales by 2030. However, no official timeline was provided by the company.

"Hyundai Motor Group is the third-largest automotive group and the second-most profitable, which gives us the ability to invest while others are pulling back," said José Muñoz, President and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. "We are bringing more than 100 new models to market by 2030 with multiple powertrain options and raising our operating margin above 9 percent."
