Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ChargeZone. This partnership will facilitate the installation of DC 60 kW fast chargers at 100 HMIL dealerships nationwide.
Jae Wan Ryu, the Function Head of Corporate Planning at HMIL, and Kartikey Hariyani, the Founder and CEO of Charge Zone, signed the MoU at HMIL's headquarters in Gurugram, Haryana.
This partnership aims to improve public EV charging infrastructure, making it easier for people to travel both within cities and between them by setting up charging stations at Hyundai dealerships located in cities and along highways.
Currently, HMIL has a network of 34 EV fast charging stations and 19 dealerships equipped with DC 60 kW public EV chargers. With this partnership, an additional 100 charging stations will be installed, providing convenience to all EV users. The charging stations will be accessible through the ‘myHyundai’ app or the ‘ChargeZone’ app.
Jae Wan Ryu of HMIL stated, “Strengthening EV charging infrastructure is crucial for promoting electric mobility and addressing range anxiety. Our partnership with ChargeZone will enhance our EV charging network, benefiting all EV users and supporting India's carbon neutrality goals.”
Kartikey Hariyani of ChargeZone emphasised, “Our collaboration with Hyundai aims to improve infrastructure for 4-Wheeler Electric Vehicles (BEVs), ensuring reliable and seamless access to charging stations.”
In addition to the dealership network, HMIL operates 15 fast charging stations across key cities and highways in nine Indian states. HMIL's “EV Charge” management system, hosted within the “myHyundai” app, enables users to locate charging points, book slots, monitor remotely, and make digital payments. ChargeZone’s network of chargers is also integrated into the “EV Charge” section of the app, alongside HMIL’s chargers and those from third-party operators.
