Hyundai Motor Group will present its group-level artificial intelligence (AI) robotics strategy at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, outlining how robotics and AI are expected to be integrated across its manufacturing and operations ecosystem.
The strategy will be formally introduced during Hyundai Media Day on January 5, 2026, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The company said the presentation will focus on human-robot collaboration, manufacturing innovation, and the commercialization of AI-driven robotics.
A key highlight of the presentation will be the public debut of Boston Dynamics’ new Atlas humanoid robot. The robot, which has so far been demonstrated primarily in controlled environments, will be showcased on stage as part of Hyundai Motor Group’s broader robotics roadmap. Boston Dynamics is a subsidiary of the Group.
According to the company, the AI robotics strategy is intended to expand the deployment of robotics across Hyundai Motor Group’s “Group Value Network,” which includes manufacturing, logistics, and software operations. The Group plans to link robotics development, training, and operations through its Software-Defined Factory (SDF) framework, which relies on data-driven and software-controlled manufacturing processes.
Hyundai Motor Group said the SDF approach is designed to improve flexibility and efficiency across production systems, while enabling the use of robotics as adaptable co-workers in industrial environments. The Group also outlined plans to manage the robotics value chain internally, covering robot components, logistics systems, and software integration.
In addition to the Media Day presentation, Hyundai Motor Group will host an exhibition at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 6 to 9. The exhibition will feature demonstrations of its robotics technologies, including Atlas, Spot, and MobED, along with interactive displays intended to illustrate potential applications in industrial settings and daily life.
CES 2026 will serve as Hyundai Motor Group’s main platform to communicate how AI and robotics are expected to play a larger role in its long-term manufacturing and automation strategy.
Organised annually by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the Consumer Electronics Show is held every January in Las Vegas, US, and serves as a global platform where companies showcase upcoming technologies, products, and long-term strategies. While it began as a consumer electronics show, CES has evolved into a broader technology event covering automotive, artificial intelligence, robotics, mobility, smart manufacturing, sustainability, health tech, and software.
CES is not a consumer-facing trade fair. It is primarily attended by industry executives, policymakers, engineers, investors, media, and analysts. Automakers and technology companies increasingly use CES to announce future-facing concepts, partnerships, and strategic roadmaps rather than production-ready products.
