Hyundai Motor India Limited has filed a disclosure with the National Stock Exchange and BSE, providing an update on the production impact stemming from a fire incident at Mobis India Limited, one of its key automotive parts suppliers. The incident, first reported on June 1, 2026, caused a temporary halt in parts supply, affecting assembly operations at the company's Chennai Plant 1.
According to the filing, the company's Pune plant and Chennai Plant 2 have remained largely unaffected and are continuing normal operations. The disruption has been contained to Chennai Plant 1, which is expected to recover its production pace by June 15, 2026. Full normalisation across all production lines is projected by June 22, 2026.
To mitigate the supply gap, Hyundai Motor India said it is actively sourcing automotive components from alternate supplier locations. The company is also assessing the full operational impact of the incident.
Despite the temporary production setback, the company expressed confidence that retail sales in June 2026 would not see any significant impact, citing adequate vehicle inventory already available across its dealer network. Any production loss resulting from the incident is expected to be recovered within the next quarter.
