Hyundai Motor India reported its highest-ever monthly total sales of 77,916 units in September 2026, with domestic sales and exports both increasing 10.9 percent and 10.4 percent, respectively, year-on-year.
The September performance follows 54,396 domestic units and 11,400 exports in August, when total sales stood at 65,796 units. Domestic sales in August were up 23.6 percent year-on-year, while total sales increased 8.8 percent. September domestic volumes therefore increased by 2,770 units, or around 5.1 percent, month-on-month.
In September, HMIL sold 57,166 units in the domestic market, up 10.9 percent year-on-year, while exports stood at 20,750 units, an increase of 10.4 percent. The company said the September total surpassed its previous monthly record, achieved in July 2026.

Domestic sales increased from 54,396 units in August to 57,166 units in September. The August figure had been HMIL's highest-ever domestic sales volume for that month, while domestic sales for April-August FY2027 were up 12.6 percent year-on-year.
September's domestic growth was accompanied by a higher export contribution. Exports increased from 11,400 units in August to 20,750 units in September, taking total monthly sales to a new record.

HMIL exported 20,750 vehicles in September, up 10.4 per cent year-on-year. The company had reported 11,400 exports in August, with logistics constraints linked to the conflict in West Asia and the broader geopolitical environment affecting shipments during that month.
HMIL said it expects export demand to remain strong in the coming months, subject to an improvement in the geopolitical situation.
The company attributed the September sales performance to growth across both domestic and export markets. It also said bookings have opened for the Hyundai Bayon, its upcoming new nameplate for India, ahead of the festive season.
