Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) reported domestic sales of 54,396 units in August 2026, up 23.6% year-on-year and its highest sales figure for the month of August.
Including exports, the company’s total sales rose 8.8% year-on-year to 65,796 units. Exports accounted for 11,400 units during the month.
The automaker said its domestic sales for the April-August period of FY2027 increased 12.6% year-on-year.

Commenting on the August performance, Tarun Garg, MD and CEO of HMIL, said the company’s domestic sales momentum continued during the first five months of FY2027, with sales rising 12.6% year-on-year over the April-August period.
August domestic sales of 54,396 units marked the company’s highest sales volume for the month of August, according to HMIL.
Hyundai exports affected by logistical constraints
HMIL said exports during August were affected by logistical constraints linked to the conflict in West Asia and the broader geopolitical environment during the month.
The company said it expects export demand to remain strong in the coming months, subject to an improvement in the geopolitical situation.
