Hyundai Creta Records Highest Annual Sales in 2025
The share of first-time buyers increased from 13 percent in 2020 to 32 percent in 2025.
The Hyundai Creta recorded its highest annual sales to date in calendar year 2025, crossing 200,000 units. This works out to an average of about 550 units sold per day during the year, the company said.
The mid-size SUV has been the best-selling model in its segment over the past five years on a cumulative basis. HMIL said the Creta now holds a market share of over 34 percent in the mid-size SUV segment in India.
According to the company, the Creta completed 10 years in the Indian market in 2025. Between 2016 and 2025, the model recorded a compound annual growth rate of more than 9 percent. From 2020 to 2025, it was also the highest-selling SUV in the country on a cumulative basis.
Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO-designate, Hyundai Motor India Limited, said the sales milestone reflects the continued acceptance of the Creta among Indian buyers. He added that the share of first-time buyers increased from 13 percent in 2020 to 32 percent in 2025. Variants equipped with a sunroof accounted for over 70 percent of sales during 2025, while diesel versions contributed about 44 percent.
The Hyundai Creta is offered with multiple powertrain and transmission options, including petrol and diesel engines, as well as an electric version. The model is available in both internal combustion engine and electric variants, aimed at addressing a wide range of customer requirements in the mid-size SUV segment
