Hyundai Creta electric gets more range, new variants

Hyundai has refreshed the Creta Electric line-up with new variants, feature additions, longer range figures, fresh colour options, and mild price revisions.

With the update, the Creta Electric now gets three new trims – Executive Tech 42kWh, Excellence 42kWh, and Executive (O) 51.4kWh. Of these, the Executive (O) becomes the most affordable entry point to the larger 51.4kWh battery, the Excellence is the top-spec 42kWh variant, and the Executive Tech slots just above the base variant. At the same time,

Hyundai has discontinued the Smart and Smart (O) 42kWh trims. Most existing variants also see a modest price increase.

Prices for the Creta electric now start at Rs 18.02 lakh for the Executive 42kWh variant, going upto Rs 23.67 lakh for the top spec Creta electric excellence 51.4kWh version.

All Creta Electric trims now get Hyundai’s wired-to-wireless adapter for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Excellence 42kWh and 51.4kWh variants also add a dashcam and rear wireless charger, while the Premium trim gains vegan leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, and an 8-way powered driver’s seat. Customers can also now choose from two new exterior shades – Matte Black and Shadow Grey.

The newly introduced Executive Tech 42kWh packs a panoramic sunroof, rear sunshades, vegan leather upholstery, and ventilated front seats. The fully loaded Excellence 42kWh goes further, offering Level 2 ADAS, powered front seats, front parking sensors, auto-dimming IRVM, and rain-sensing wipers.

Hyundai has also improved the efficiency of both battery packs. The 42kWh unit’s range rises from 390km to 420km, while the 51.4kWh pack improves from 473km to 510km (claimed figures). This equates to a 7.8% increase for both configurations, which should translate into a noticeable real-world improvement. Importantly, power and torque outputs remain unchanged.
