Honda has opened bookings for the XR300L and XR300 Rally in India and announced prices for both models. The two motorcycles were among the 10 models showcased by Honda in July and are aimed at the growing dual-sport and adventure motorcycle segment.
Honda XR300L and XR300 Rally Prices
The XR300L is priced at Rs 1.83 lakh, while the more off-road-focused XR300 Rally costs Rs 2.08 lakh. Both motorcycles are locally manufactured and will be retailed through Honda BigWing dealerships.
Same 293.5cc Engine for Both Bikes
Both motorcycles use a 293.5cc air- and oil-cooled single-cylinder engine, closely related to the unit used in the CB300F. International versions produce around 24.3hp and 26.5Nm.
Honda has not yet updated its India website with the complete specifications. The India-spec motorcycles do, however, feature revised exhaust routing compared with the South American-spec XR300L, likely to meet local emissions requirements.
Both bikes use telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock, along with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels.
XR300 Rally Gets Additional Equipment
The XR300 Rally commands a Rs 25,000 premium over the standard XR300L and adds equipment aimed at longer-distance and off-road riding.
It gets a 5-inch TFT display, larger fuel tank, taller windscreen, knuckle guards and rally-inspired bodywork. It also features more comprehensive switchgear.
The Rally is expected to have a slightly taller seat height than the XR300L and a marginally higher kerb weight due to its larger fuel tank. Honda is yet to reveal the complete India-specification details.
Honda XR300L vs Rivals
The XR300L enters a segment where Honda has previously had limited presence in India, as more manufacturers expand their dual-sport offerings.
At Rs 1.83 lakh, the XR300L is positioned below the Kawasaki KLX230, which costs Rs 2.19 lakh, while offering a larger engine. It is also only marginally more expensive than the Hero Xpulse 210, priced between Rs 1.68 lakh and Rs 1.77 lakh.
The XR300 Rally, at Rs 2.08 lakh, increases the price gap over the Xpulse 210 but remains below the KLX230.
