Honda Opens First EV Concept Store in Bengaluru

Company launches BaaS Lite Plan at Rs 678 per month for ACTIVA e: customers.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India inaugurated its first EV Concept Store in India on Monday at Mantri Square Mall, Malleshwaram, Bengaluru, while announcing a new Battery-as-a-Service Lite Plan for ACTIVA e: customers starting at Rs 678 per month to expand electric vehicle accessibility.

The concept store features interactive displays showcasing Honda's electric mobility technology and global innovation portfolio. The facility includes a main LED display for digital engagement, a history wall displaying Honda's milestones, and a product display zone featuring the ACTIVA e: and QC1 electric models.

The store's Safe Tech Zone demonstrates core components of Honda's electric vehicles, including the PMS motor, hub motor, charger, battery systems, and Mobile Power Pack technology. Visitors can observe live demonstrations of Honda's battery swapping technology through the Honda Power Pack Exchanger e: system.

Additional displays include a scale model of the Honda Jet, Honda's Electric Racing Go-Kart powered by swappable batteries, and the Honda Moto Compacto, a 19-kilogram foldable electric scooter with a 24-kilometer-per-hour top speed and 20-kilometer range.

Honda introduced the BaaS Lite Plan to complement existing Basic and Advance subscription packages. The Lite Plan provides 20 kilowatt-hours of energy usage per month for Rs 678, targeting users with lower daily running requirements. The Basic Plan offers 35 kilowatt-hours monthly for Rs 1,999, while the Advance Plan provides 87 kilowatt-hours for Rs 3,599.

The ACTIVA e: features two 1.5-kilowatt-hour swappable batteries developed by Honda Motor Co. Ltd. Japan and managed by Honda Power Pack Energy India. The vehicle delivers a 102-kilometer range on full charge according to Indian Driving Cycle standards.

Customers exceeding their monthly energy allocation face additional charges of Rs 70 per kilowatt-hour for the Lite Plan and Rs 35 per kilowatt-hour for Basic and Advance Plans, with all prices excluding GST.
