Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India’s total dispatches grow 60% YoY in June
The automaker dispatched 5,18,799 two-wheelers during the month, against 324093 two-wheelers sold in June last year.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India posted a 60% on-year jump in its total dispatches during June on the back of robust sales improvement in both domestic and export markets.
India’s second largest two-wheeler maker dispatched a total of 5,18,799 two-wheelers during the month, against 324093 two-wheelers sold in June last year. A low base in the year-ago period aided a double-digit growth during the month.
“This includes domestic sales of 4,82,597 units and 36,202 units of exports. The domestic sales for the month registered a strong 59% YoY growth while the exports grew by a massive 70% over the same period of last year,” the company said in a press release.
Honda Motorcycle & Scooter noted that it opened its first sales and service outlet in Shillong, Meghalaya, during the month. This is the company’s 25th authorized main dealership in North-East India and 174th in the East region.
Recently, Autocar Professional reported that the automaker added two manufacturing lines at its Gujarat and Karnataka factories to cater to the growing demand. The company is eying a double-digit growth in its volume during the current financial year to over 5.75 million units, close to its previous peak of 5.9 million units in FY19.
