Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Sales Rise 8% to 5.79 Lakh in August

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India sales rose 8% year-on-year to 5.79 lakh units in August 2026, while exports increased 15% to 61,833 units.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) recorded total sales of 579,162 units in August 2026, an 8% year-on-year increase from 534,861 units in the same month last year.

The company's domestic sales rose 8% to 517,329 units, compared with 481,021 units in August 2025. Exports increased at a faster pace of 15% year-on-year to 61,833 units, against 53,840 units a year earlier.

For the April-August period of FY27, HMSI reported cumulative sales of 2,733,758 units, up 13% from 2,425,391 units during the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

Domestic sales during the first five months of FY27 stood at 2,407,304 units, up 11% year-on-year from 2,176,345 units in the April-August 2025 period.

Exports grew 31% during the April-August period to 326,454 units, compared with 249,046 units in the corresponding period a year earlier. Exports therefore continued to grow faster than the company's domestic volumes during the financial year to date.

HMSI FY27 sales reach 27.33 lakh units in April-August

The August sales performance takes HMSI's total volume for the first five months of FY27 to 27.33 lakh units. While domestic sales accounted for the bulk of the company's volumes, export growth remained stronger both in August and for the April-August period.
