Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has reported achieving 1 crore cumulative two-wheeler sales in the central region of India, which includes Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh. This milestone, according to Honda, highlights the company’s sustained presence in the region and its role as a prominent player in the local market.

Since its entry into the Indian market in 2001 with the launch of the Activa, HMSI has grown steadily, with this milestone reflecting the company’s broad customer base and the support of its dealer network. HMSI reached 50 lakh sales in the central region by 2017 and has since doubled that figure in under seven years, bringing its total to over 1 crore.

The Activa remains the best-selling model for HMSI in this region, followed by the Shine 125 and SP125. The newer Shine 100 model has contributed to the company’s growth in the 100-110cc segment. HMSI operates through more than 1,200 outlets across these four states, serving both urban and rural areas.

In a statement, Yogesh Mathur, Director of Sales & Marketing at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, acknowledged the milestone, thanking customers for their continued trust. He reiterated HMSI’s commitment to providing reliable products and service while aiming to meet the needs of a diverse customer base.

HMSI’s product range includes scooters and motorcycles in various categories, from the entry-level Shine 100 to models in the 200cc range, such as the CB200X. The company also offers premium motorcycles through its BigWing network, which retails models like the CB350 and Africa Twin.

This sales milestone underscores HMSI’s continued engagement with the Indian market as it looks to maintain its position in the two-wheeler sector.
