Honda Launches Startup Co-Development Initiative Through HDII and T-Hub

Honda Digital Innovation India (HDII) and T-Hub have launched Honda Innovation Challenge 1.0, a startup co-development programme aimed at developing mobility-related solutions for Honda's products and customer ecosystem in India. The initiative marks the first Honda-backed startup programme in the country and will bring selected startups into direct collaboration with the automaker.

The programme was officially launched at T-Hub’s Phase 2 campus in Hyderabad and follows the recent establishment of Honda Digital Innovation India, a dedicated entity focused on digital services and mobility experiences for the Indian market. According to Honda, HDII is structured around three focus areas — experience, connection and innovation.

As part of the programme, four startups have been selected for a fully funded 60-day proof-of-concept (PoC) phase. Each startup will receive co-development funding of up to Rs 10 lakh and will validate solutions using Honda vehicles, real-world road conditions, and operational data. The programme is scheduled to conclude with a Demo Day on July 31, 2026.

Honda Innovation Challenge 1.0 received over 300 applications from startups across multiple use cases. The company said entries were assessed on technology maturity, suitability for the Indian market and the ability to deliver a working proof of concept within the specified timeline. Of the applications received, 25 startups were shortlisted before four final participants were selected.

The selected startups include XANE AI, Attento Technologies, AppTestify and Sensight Technologies (AutoWiz).

Speaking at the event, Kunal Behl, Director, Honda Digital Innovation India and Vice President – Marketing and Sales at Honda Cars India, said: “The Honda Innovation Challenge is an opportunity to co-create real-world solutions that enhance customer experience. We are excited to engage with startups that bring fresh ideas, digital capabilities and disruptive thinking to create impactful use cases for Honda"
