Honda Cars India announced significant price reductions across its entire model lineup effective September 22, 2025, following the implementation of GST Reforms 2025. The automaker has reduced prices by amounts ranging from ₹41,790 to ₹1.2 lakh across different variants.
The Honda Amaze, the company's entry-level sedan, receives the most substantial benefits with the entire range now priced under ₹10 lakh. The model's pricing spans from ₹6,97,700 to ₹9,99,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi), representing price cuts between ₹65,100 and ₹1.2 lakh depending on the variant and generation.
The Honda Elevate SUV sees its entry-level SV MT variant now starting at ₹10,99,900, down from ₹11,91,000 previously. Price reductions across the Elevate range vary from ₹42,800 to ₹91,100, making the mid-size SUV more accessible to buyers.
The premium Honda City sedan also benefits from the price revision, with reductions ranging from ₹41,790 to ₹57,500. The City now starts at ₹11,95,300 (ex-showroom), maintaining its position in the premium sedan segment while offering enhanced value.
According to the company's pricing charts, the second-generation Amaze sees cuts of ₹65,100 to ₹72,800, while the third-generation model receives reductions of ₹69,100 to ₹1.2 lakh. The most expensive variant affected is the Amaze ZX CVT, which drops from ₹11,19,900 to ₹9,99,900.
Honda's move comes as the automotive industry adapts to recent GST reforms, with manufacturers passing on tax benefits to consumers. The timing coincides with India's festive season, traditionally a period of increased vehicle purchases.
Kunal Behl, Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Honda Cars India, stated that the revised pricing represents both GST reform benefits and strategic positioning for a limited period until December 2025. The company expects the price adjustments to stimulate demand during the festive buying season.
The announcement positions Honda competitively in key segments, with the Amaze targeting the compact sedan market, the Elevate competing in the growing mid-size SUV space, and the City maintaining its premium sedan positioning.
Honda's decision reflects broader industry trends as automakers seek to maintain sales momentum amid evolving tax structures and competitive pressures. The price cuts span manual and automatic transmission variants across all three model lines.
