Honda 0 series saloon concept receives Red Dot Design Award's top honor for 2024
The Space-Hub, another concept from Honda's 0 Series, also won recognition in the same competition.
Honda's Saloon concept model has been awarded the 'Red Dot: Best of the Best 2024' in the Design Concept category of the Red Dot Design Award. Additionally, another concept model from Honda's 0 Series, the Space-Hub, was named a Red Dot winner in the same competition.
The Honda 0 Series, which reflects the company's transformation under its new global brand slogan, "The Power of Dreams," was introduced at CES 2024 in January. The Saloon, the flagship concept model, exemplifies Honda's new EV development philosophy, described as "Thin, Light, and Wise."
The Saloon's design is characterised by a one-motion form and a low, wide stance. Its exterior combines a sense of suppleness and dynamism, featuring an upright side glass design that creates a broad side panel. The interior is designed with a straightforward human-machine interface for a seamless user experience. Despite its sporty, low-height exterior, the Saloon offers a spacious interior.
The Space-Hub concept model embodies Honda's "M/M concept," highlighting the potential of EVs as versatile spaces. It features a flexible cabin with excellent visibility, designed to adapt to users' needs and promote connections between people and society.
Both models align with the Honda 0 Series design concept, "The Art of Resonance." The Space-Hub's exterior has bold proportions aimed at evoking new perspectives, while its interior focuses on spaciousness and occupant comfort.
Toshinobu Minami, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Honda R&D Co., Ltd., commented on the awards, stating that the recognition reflects the high evaluation of Honda's design and the new value the company aims to offer. He emphasised Honda's ongoing commitment to creating mobility products that bring surprise and excitement to people's daily lives.
