Hero MotoCorp announced its sales figures for August 2026 on Tuesday,reporting a 2.6% year-on-year increase in its total two-wheeler sales for the period, going from 553,727 units in the previous year to 568,398 units.
The motorcycle and scooter sales paint different pictures. Motorcycle sales dropped marginally by 1.5% to 493,851 units from 501,523 units in the same month the previous year. On the other hand, scooter sales jumped by 43%, going from 52,204 units to 74,547 year-on-year. When comparing Year-to-date figures, motorcycle sales fared better with a 12.4% increase to 2,446,671 units in the eight months of 2026 so far, while scooters showed an even higher increase, rising 70% to 332,456 units sold.
Domestic sales for the two-wheeler maker came at 542,305 units, a 4.5% increase compared to the 519,139 units in the same month the previous year. Conversely, exports fell by nearly 25%, going from 34,588 units to 26,093 units, despite launching the XPulse 200 4V and XPulse 200 4V Pro motorcycles in Bangladesh.
