Hero MotoCorp reports 18% sales growth in October 2024
Hero MotoCorp sold 679,091 motorcycles and scooters in October 2024, marking an 18% increase year-over-year.
In October 2024, Hero MotoCorp, the world's largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, sold 679,091 units, marking an 18% increase compared to 574,930 units in October 2023. This growth was attributed to strong demand from both urban and rural markets, especially in the 100cc and 125cc segments during the festive period.
Hero MotoCorp’s electric vehicle brand, VIDA, recorded its highest monthly dispatches to date, with 8,750 units sold in October 2024. The company's Grand Indian Festival of Trust (GIFT) campaign, 'Shubh Muhurat Aaya, Hero Saath Laya,' introduced attractive offers that contributed to robust festive season sales. The company noted its highest-ever sales on Dhanteras, with double-digit growth compared to the previous year.
The company has been expanding its premium dealership network and now operates over 50 Premia outlets across as many cities, with plans to reach 100 by March. In October, nine new Premia outlets were opened in various locations, enhancing the accessibility of its premium product portfolio, including Hero MotoCorp, VIDA, and Harley-Davidson offerings.
Hero MotoCorp was recognised with the Sword of Honour by the British Safety Council, one of 70 organisations globally to receive this distinction for excellence in workplace health, safety, and well-being. This accolade was awarded to the company’s Gurugram manufacturing facility, highlighting its commitment to safety standards.
The company launched a new campaign for the Hero Xtreme brand featuring international cricketer Virat Kohli. The campaign, directed by German filmmaker Oliver, focused on the brand's "Challenge the Extreme" theme and showcased the Xtreme 125R and Xtreme 160R 4V motorcycles set against a London backdrop.
Hero MotoSports achieved a milestone by winning the 2024 FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), becoming the first Indian manufacturer to secure this title. Ross Branch's consistent performance throughout the season played a key role in securing the championship, positioning the company among established global competitors.
In October 2024, the company sold 635,787 motorcycles compared to 529,341 in October 2023, and 43,304 scooters compared to 45,589 in the previous year. Year-to-date (YTD) sales for FY’25 totaled 3,733,931 units, up from 3,344,030 in FY’24. Domestic sales reached 657,403 units, higher than 559,766 in October 2023, while exports rose to 21,688 units from 15,164 in the same month last year. YTD domestic sales were 3,598,069 compared to 3,240,956 in FY’24, and exports were 135,862, an increase from 103,074.
