The partnership combines HERE's navigation platform with ECARX's automotive technology to create a standardized solution for automakers across more than 200 countries.
HERE Technologies and ECARX have announced a strategic partnership to develop a new generation navigation system for global automotive manufacturers. The collaboration was unveiled at Auto Shanghai 2025, where the companies plan to showcase a production-ready solution.
The joint initiative integrates HERE SDK, a navigation platform providing location services for connected vehicles, with ECARX's automotive technology stack. This combination aims to create standardized navigation solutions that can be deployed across international markets while meeting various regional data regulations.
"Together with ECARX, we're combining cutting-edge AI-powered mapping and location services with next-generation intelligent vehicle platforms," said Mike Nefkens, CEO of HERE Technologies. "Our partnership is focused on increasing the speed at which automakers bring the latest in-car navigation solutions to market."
According to Ziyu Shen, Co-founder, Chairman, and CEO of ECARX, the collaboration will significantly reduce development cycles for automakers implementing navigation systems in global vehicle platforms.
The partnership targets multiple automotive manufacturers, including Lotus, Lynk & Co, Smart, and Hongqi, enabling them to offer consistent navigation experiences across different markets.
HERE Technologies, headquartered in the Netherlands, has been expanding its presence in the automotive sector globally. The company specializes in location data and mapping services used in various applications from vehicle navigation to smart city infrastructure.
ECARX, listed on Nasdaq as ECX, develops software and hardware solutions for connected vehicles, focusing on infotainment systems, digital cockpits, and vehicle computing platforms.
The companies are demonstrating their joint navigation solution at Auto Shanghai 2025, one of the world's major automotive exhibitions, which showcases innovations in vehicle technology and connected mobility.
