Havells India Partners With Pixii to Enter Battery Energy Storage Market

Havells India Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Norway-based Pixii AS to introduce modular Battery Energy Storage Systems into the domestic market. The alliance aims to deploy energy storage technologies tailored for small-scale residential, commercial, and industrial operational setups.

The agreement, formalized in New Delhi in the presence of May-Elin Stener, the Norwegian Ambassador to India, outlines a multi-stage development architecture. Initial phases will focus on market validation and the activation of localized pilot projects to assess regional commercial opportunities. Subsequent operational phases intend to transition the venture toward the co-development of integrated storage solutions and localized product assembly leveraging Havells' existing domestic manufacturing footprint and distribution network.

Reshu Madan, Strategic Business Unit Head of Renewables at Havells India, stated that the partnership plans to combine international technical designs with localized production capabilities. Thomas Ingebretsen, Chief Executive Officer of Pixii AS, noted that the joint initiative intends to deliver scalable storage systems capable of addressing the utility requirements of regional commercial enterprises and domestic consumer segments.
