The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has announced that Harsha Vardhan Agarwal will serve as its President-Elect for 2024-25. This decision was made during the FICCI National Executive Committee Meeting (NECM). Currently holding the position of Senior Vice President at FICCI, Agarwal will succeed Dr. Anish Shah as President following the 97th Annual General Meeting, scheduled for November 21 in New Delhi.

Agarwal is a second-generation leader in the Emami Group, a diversified business conglomerate with a revenue of USD 3.1 billion. In 2016, he was recognised on the 'FORTY UNDER 40' list by The Economic Times and Spencer Stuart as one of India's emerging business leaders. He currently leads Emami Limited, the group’s FMCG business, as its Vice Chairman and Managing Director. Additionally, Agarwal is a member of Emami Group’s strategic leadership team, contributing to the company's growth and development.

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is one of India's most prominent business associations, representing diverse sectors within the country’s economic landscape. Established in 1927, FICCI is among the oldest industry organisations in India, with a mission to support growth, innovation, and collaboration within the Indian business community. The organisation functions as a bridge between Indian industries and the government, facilitating policy discussions, addressing industry challenges, and advocating for economic reforms.

FICCI operates through a network of committees and task forces that cover a broad range of sectors, including manufacturing, healthcare, technology, infrastructure, financial services, and energy. These committees work to understand sector-specific issues, provide industry insights, and develop recommendations that support both short- and long-term growth. By fostering partnerships with various industries, the organisaation contributes to knowledge sharing, best practices, and skill development within the country.

With a membership base that spans large corporations, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and multinational companies, FICCI provides a platform for its members to connect, collaborate, and explore new business opportunities. It frequently organises events, such as seminars, trade fairs, and conferences, which bring together industry leaders, policymakers, and global experts to discuss key economic and business issues.

In addition to its role within India, FICCI engages with international business associations and organisations to strengthen India’s trade and investment relations globally. The organisation supports Indian businesses in their efforts to expand internationally and facilitates foreign companies’ entry into the Indian market. Through research, policy advocacy, and capacity-building initiatives, FICCI aims to foster a conducive environment for sustainable economic growth and competitiveness within India’s evolving economic framework.
