Hala Mobility Introduces Battery Swapping and Insurance for Gig Workers

Hala Mobility announced on Wednesday the launch of three new services under its Sustainable Ecosystem to Empower Delivery Partners (SEED) initiative. The offerings include an accident and health insurance product named Kavach, an earned-wage financial access tool named Swayam, and an in-house battery swapping network called Twinfinity.

Under the new scheme structure, Kavach provides daily accident and health insurance coverage priced at Rs 2 per day. Swayam allows eligible delivery partners to access a portion of their accumulated earnings prior to scheduled weekly or monthly paydays, using platform-generated work data to determine eligibility. Lastly, the Twinfinity battery swapping network utilizes in-house developed batteries, stations, and software to enable battery swaps in under 60 seconds.

Srikanth Reddy Kalakonda, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Hala Mobility, said, "With Kavach, we are making protection more accessible at ₹2 a day, with Swayam, we are giving riders greater flexibility over money they have already earned, and with Twinfinity, we are helping them spend less time waiting and more time earning. These products come from looking at the everyday challenges riders face beyond the vehicle itself."
