Vietnamese electric mobility platform Green SM has conveyed plans to expand its India fleet to 10,000 vehicles, according to Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh.
Speaking at the company’s India launch event, Singh said Green SM representatives had informed the Haryana Chief Minister and the state government about their intention to scale operations significantly in the country.
“The Green SM team told the Haryana Chief Minister and the Haryana government that they plan to expand to 10,000 vehicles in the near future,” Singh said.
The remarks came as Green SM formally launched its India operations, marking the company’s latest international expansion after Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines.
Addressing the gathering, Nguyen Van Thanh, Global CEO of Green SM, said India was a natural choice for the company’s next phase of growth and expansion.
“If there is one country where both innovation and opportunity come together at scale, it is India,” Thanh said.
He noted that Green SM has expanded rapidly since its launch and now operates across five countries. The company has built a network of more than 150,000 driver partners and has emerged as one of the fastest-growing electric mobility platforms in the region.
“Everything we have built over the past three years has come from one simple belief: transportation can help build a better life,” Thanh said.
Green SM said its India operations will focus on providing electric mobility services through a fleet of electric vehicles while creating earning opportunities for driver partners through structured training and support programmes.
The company is positioning itself as both a mobility platform and a driver-focused ecosystem, with Thanh emphasising the importance of professional development, service quality and community building.
“After every ride, what passengers remember most is not the vehicle. It is the person behind the wheel,” he said.
Thanh also highlighted the broader significance of the company’s India entry, expressing confidence that economic and business ties between India and Vietnam would continue to strengthen through deeper collaboration and investment.
“I believe the strong partnership between Vietnam and India will continue to grow, built on shared values and lasting cooperation between our two nations,” he said.
India has become the latest market in Green SM’s international expansion strategy as the company seeks to tap into one of the world’s fastest-growing mobility ecosystems.
