Greaves Electric Mobility 3W (GEM 3W)'s electric three-wheeler passenger vehicle, the Greaves Eltra City, has completed a long-distance journey on a single charge. The vehicle travelled 225 kilometres from Bangalore to Mysore, passing several notable landmarks along the route.

The event, dubbed the "Eltra City Freedom Ride," was organised to coincide with Independence Day celebrations. It aimed to demonstrate the vehicle's range capabilities and promote the concept of reduced fuel dependence.

K Vijaya Kumar, Director of GEM 3W, commented on the achievement, stating that it showcases the company's electric vehicle technology and commitment to sustainable urban mobility solutions.

The Eltra City is equipped with a 10.8 kWh lithium-ion battery and a 9.6 kW motor. It has a payload capacity of 528 kg and features including 14-degree gradability, 49 Nm of peak torque, and hill hold assist. The vehicle is designed to minimize maintenance costs and maximize uptime.

During the journey, the vehicle was operated in Eco mode to demonstrate range optimisation to potential customers. This approach was chosen to address potential concerns about range discrepancies.

Greaves Electric Mobility Private Limited, supported by Greaves Cotton Ltd., aims to contribute to India's goals for energy sustainability and reduced carbon emissions. The company focuses on developing an ecosystem for affordable and sustainable last-mile mobility solutions.
