The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology approved 31 new project proposals under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, committing an incremental investment of Rs 6,844 crore, giving significant momentum to India's push to localize advanced automotive electronics and electric vehicle supply chains

The latest approvals directly target critical gaps in the domestic automotive value chain, prioritizing upstream raw materials and specialized parts essential for next-generation vehicles and EV battery manufacturing. Key project clearances include anode material production by Epsilon C2GR, acetylene black conductive additives by PCBL Chemical, electrolyte additives by Acutaas Chemicals, and rare earth permanent magnets by Quantum Magnetics.

In the automotive connectivity, instrumentation, and sensor domain, approvals were granted to Minda Instrument for display module sub-assemblies, Ennovi Mobility Solutions and Amphenol Interconnect for automotive connectors, and Sensata Technologies alongside Centum Electronics for transducers. Specialized electronics manufacturing also saw clearances for relays to Allied Engineering Works and Gruner India, and camera module sub-assemblies to SkyQuad Electronics.

With this round, cumulative approvals under the scheme have reached 106 projects across 15 states, representing a total investment of Rs 69,548 crore, projected production output of Rs 5,34,101 crore, and 74,628 direct jobs. Out of these, 38 manufacturing plants have already begun operations, while 16 additional units are in advanced stages of equipment setup.

"The Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme is accelerating the development of a robust and deep-rooted 'Swadeshi' electronics value chain, moving beyond assembly to domestic manufacturing of critical components and essential raw materials," said Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister for Electronics and IT, Railways, and Information and Broadcasting.
