Gaganjot Singh joins Swaraj Tractors as CEO

Singh was the president and managing director of Michelin’s Africa, India and Middle East operations.

Gaganjot Singh has assumed the role of the new Chief Executive Officer at Mahindra & Mahindra’s Swaraj Tractors, according to his update on a social media platform. Singh, who was with Michelin for the last 13 years, replaced Harish Chavan in his new role at Swaraj Tractors.

"Thanks, Swaraj for making me part of the stupendous journey that you have been. Being back in Punjab where I spent the first three decades of my life is blissful. Look forward to the year ahead and being part of this winning journey of Swaraj that has been wonderfully crafted by all its people with lot of pride, passion, perseverance and an unparalleled josh (vigour)," Singh said in a post on LinkedIn. 

At the time of resigning from Michelin, he was the president and managing director of the tyre maker’s Africa, India and Middle East operations. He joined Michelin in 2012 as director for finance and operations, and then served as managing director for its South Africa business and global business model leader for long-distance transportation.

"A big thank you to Michelin community. Michelin is always Michelin and should remain the same. I take a bouquet of nice memories with me and continue to cheer from afar for the success of AIM and the Group", he said.

Before Michelin, he served as the chief financial officer and vice president at Saint-Gobain. Singh, who holds an MBA from the School of Management Studies, Punjabi University, also worked with PepsiCo and GSK Consumer Healthcare India.
