FreshBus gets 26 cr seed funding for proposed intra-city EV bus market foray

The company plans to introduce 24 electric buses in the Bengaluru-Hyderabad Intercity network

Bengaluru-based EV start-up FreshBus plans to introduce 24 electric buses in the Bengaluru-Hyderabad Intercity network basis the 26 crores seed funding it has secured from ixigo (Le Travenues Technology Limited) for the launch of premium inter-city electric buses it plans to introduce from April 2023  with a range of 375 Km on a single charge.

Former Abhi Bus founder Sudhakar Reddy Chirra who sold this business to ixgo in April 2021 is back at the helm of the FreshBus foray with a second time backing from IXGO founders.

Rajnish Kumar Co-Founder & Group CPTO, ixigo said FreshBus with Sudhakar Reddy Chirra as the founder has the second time got the mandate from IXGO to take a crack target the intra-city electric bus market with comparable rates for people who care about the climate and want a superior customer experience.

Sudhakar Reddy Chirra, Founder & CEO of, FreshBus said sharing his insight into the inter-city bus market said customers currently have to face multiple issues such as lack of punctuality, unscheduled stops, poor customer service, unprofessional staff, low bar for cleanliness, inconvenient boarding points, unhygienic pit-stops for women which are archaic issues with this category of Transportation.

We will offer a more environment-friendly and affordable alternative to existing inter-city public transport which is currently dominated by fossil-fuel buses." the Founder of FreshBus further said. 

FreshBus will be a technology-enabled smart bus operator that will allow the customer to discover tracking and booking their electric intercity buses via the FreshBus mobile app and website.
